PAGE EIGHT Oil Weil Company Gives Two Awards To Petroleum Prof Dr. C. Drew Stahl, assistant pro fessor of petroleum and natural gas engineering, has been award ed a plaque and $4OO by the American Association of Oil Well Drilling Contractors. The award is made each year to a college or university profes sor who has been instrumental in interesting engineering students in the techniques of drilling for oil. This is the first time the award has been made to a Penn State faculty member. Presentation of the award was made Tuesday night at a joint meeting of Pi Epsilon Tau, petrol cum engineering honorary, and the Petroleum Engineering So ciety, after a lecture by H. J. Magner, of the Delta Drilling Co. Dr. Stahl has served on the Penn State faculty since 1947. Donkey Basketball Backed Two final general recommenda tions will be made asking the con tinuance of the Donkey Basket ball Game, which was tried this year for the first time, and es tablishment of the Spring Week committee early in October to facilitate the large amount of correspondence which must be carried on earls• to secure certain services. The report also earmarks $4400 to $4500 for operating expenses in next year's Spring 'Week, and an estimated $l3OO gift to the Penn State Student Scholarship Fund. Last year, Spring Week donated - $l6OO to the fund. Cabinet Progress Report The final report to Cabinet will enumerate the progress made dur ing the year by Cabinet. The re port will be used as a reference for future Student Encampments, Bahrenburg said. This will elimi nate wasting time on issues which have already been investigated, he added.
