The following have been added to the equipment of the physical laboratory recently: A complete X-rays apparatus, consisting of a Thomson inductorum, giving a twelve-inch spark, with an adjust able condenser, a contact breaker driven by a small electric motor, and the X-ray tubes of the double focus pattern designed by Thomson. A Kelvin absolute electrometer, and a large finely equipped Faraday electro-magnet, also have been added. In spite of her lighter team, State made rather a more credita ble showing against the University team than last year. Once State placed the ball across the line, but lost it before the touch down was scored. The guards' back interference used by State was a source of much annoyance to the big Quakers. The foot ball game played with the Indians at Harrisburg was a disappointment. It was characterized by an unusual amount of fumbling on our part, though the boys worked hard. The feature of the game was the field goal kicked by Hayes from the 35 -yard line. The Indians average 2 1 pounds per man heavier than State's team, making their whirling play almost invincible, and enabling them to pile up the largest score made against State The Free Lance.
