A new official has been added, making four in all. 3. Each official has the right to disqualify. 4. The selection of officials must be approved by the Faculty Athletic Committee of the contesting universities. 5. Until the ball is put in play no player on either side is per mitted to lay his hands upon or otherwise interfere with an op ponent. 6. When a free catch has been made the opponents are required to withdraw ten yards into their own territory. In formulating these changes the committee have declared themselves in favor of modern scientific football, and have shown a disposition to eliminate unfair and unsportsmanlike play and to reduce to a minimum the chances of accident to the players.
