TUESDAY McViN ING:::; THE SIXTH ANNUAL EXHIBITION PENNSYLVANIA STATE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY, AT PITTSBURGH On SEPTEMBER 30th, and on OCTOBER Ist, 2d and 3d, 1856. jou BOST. C. WALSER, Secretary in our notice of the circus, in yesterday's paper, we slated, upon what we considered good authority, that a performance would ho given, on Wednesday, for the juVeniles of the city. This, it turns out. is a mistake, as the company designs perrrirming in Bir mingham on Wednesday and Thursday, and returns to the American Yard to exhibit on Friday and Sat urday. A very large crowd of delighted spectators visited the circus last evening. —We understand that this evening has been set apart for the benefit of Mr. A. F. Liming, the cele brated Clown and Jester. who made his first appear ance in this city some few years since. Let him have a bumper. Bawdy ilonsr.—Two frail lair ones, named Mary Hastings and Elizabeth ttardner, wore yesterday ar rested, on the oath of Joseph IlcoNler, and commit ted to prison by Ald. M'Kenna, to answer at the next court, for keeping a bawdy house. Mary and Elizabeth held forth un Hose street, at the head of Fifth, and Mr. Hilevler, having rented apartments Contiguous to them, soon ascertained their charac ter, and of course had them properly taken care of. Arridrut.-- -A man named Michael Pauley, of Tom peranceville, w as preparing to go a gunning yester day, and after loading his rifle, it happened to go off, the ball penetrating his hand, shuttering it badly. Mr. Pauley was an operative in Woods' rolling mill. The physician present thought the hand would have to ho amputated. Th, individual who lifted upend carried away Mr. W. C. Morgan'' , cannon hall from the Circus on Sat urday night last, is earnestly requested to return it to Trimble of the American. If ho does eo it will all right; hut if he does, not, ac he is known, he will be arrested and punished. Dr. Bell's Opinion or Hostetter Bitters ItL, April 11, 18141. August 1, Mil—Daring the month of July the w.s.l market has been iu an unsettled state. The new 0..1 has come in quite slowly, and we learn that the clip is much shorter time that of last year. and bat little is left un sold in first hands. Manufacturers bought sparingly la the early part of the muth. 'rho Delahlo Mills have been nmwup the heaviest operators. us they usually are at this pe riod of the year; and pliers opened a shade above those of la•t newton. There was a brief excitement when some largo puska of Wain. , wool took place at about 2 to 3 cents -e IG higher than previous rates, but the market is now about the 341,10 all heroin. The enormous Importations of dry goods, thus far, dnriug the present year, seem to influence the markets In Europe, es well as here, to a high degree; else the short clip, the very easy money market, and the prospect of a good hart, et, give a new. impulse to speculation. The immemw Im portations prove clearly ngnin, that the foreign manufacturers ommand our nmrket, and draw the profits of our present •• duty system," injuring at the same time both our industrial end farming interests. The accounts front England and the European continent speak likewise of the heavy expiirtations to thin country as beleg thiagerou.,, and liable to result In positive lessen. The manufacturers of WOOll.ll goods, in consequence of these views, have restricted their purchases of wool, and pri:es have ainiewliet declined since the clip; and the prospects for the to wl, e auction sales about 80,000 bales of Colonial o are for a I.l,line of at least 2,1. '$ lb., and may prove greater still. They say, however, that there are good signs tor the linen, in Imsiness generally. The clip has been short all over En rope—iu some corm tries 1 0 per cent. shot ter than usual, and higher price., it is thought, will la, obtained 0111.401,11 C, in the fa l end winter. We are gratified to report that some of curve mien articles have Improved the rates, but the advance is not enough, or does not correspond sufficiently with the higher mired of wool; unit some fear is. moreover, expressed that the largo importation of mmele will press bard spoil the prices again, cud mike seder rather difficult For pulled wool the demand has been moderate, but pricey are without change since our • last, and the stork about the same , . . The arrivals front the lower ohio retort but tweutystis to twenty-eight Inches at French Island and Senfiletown, and the navigation of the river more hazardous and difficult than ever was known before. The Illbernia, Captain Gook, the evening packet, came in from Cincinnati last evening, after 6 o'clock.
