They have been driven from their homes across the desert wastes, where thousands perished. They have been slain by wholesale murder in an effort to completely exterminate the whole race. They have been buried alive. They have been burned in vast human holocausts. And in this number are about 400,000 orphan children. So desperate have they become that they eat not only the flesh of dead horses and other animals, but feed upon the flesh of their own dead. Their suffering is greater than that of the man who traveled from Jerusalem to Jericho. Like him, they are lying just on the other side of the pathway of life along which we are traveling. Each one of us must be either priest, or Levite, or Samaritan. In addition to the above letters, supplies of literature, posters, pledge cards and receipt blanks have been sent to the various churches and fraternal bodies. What more fitting agencies than those selected by the com mittee could be asked to co-operate in the work that so fully exemplifies their spirit, preachment and purpose of mercy and love? And it is particularly fitting that all of us at this time of year, when we are about to participate in all the joyousness of the glorious Easter morn, should enter heart and soul into the relief of our afflicted brothers and sisters of Armenia and Syria.
