"Tnenhyrrr6iraTueirrohT"" This Congressional District is com posed of Indiana, Armstrong, Clarion, eflerson and to rest rounties. Kach county is eptilled to three delegate in n the District nominating convention. Tho delegates of Forest county were ppointed at a meeting of the county committee during May court, and were instructed 1st, for White, of In diana, 2d, for Maclay of Clarion, and 3d for Marlin of Jefferson. Next Clarion county held her primary meet ing, and instructed her delegates for Campbell. Then Indiana at her pri mary meetings instructed for White. Jefferson instructed for Mirlin, and Armstrong county instructed 1st, for Italic, 'and 2d, for White. In this county some of the voters seemed disposed to question the right of tho county committee to appoint delegates nnd instruct them ; conse qucntly petitions were circulated last week, setting forth that the committee hod no right to act in the capacity they did, and praying that other delegates who, it U understood . were favorable to Campbell, bo admitted to the con ventiou iu place of Uiom appointed by tho county committee. The other side claimed that by rca-,' son of established precedent, th dele gates appointed by the committee were legally entitled to scats in the conven tion. Tbe upshot of the matter was that both Beta of delegates went to Kittanning to attending the District Convention which ,vaa appointed to meet ' yesterday. AH he have since heard of the affair is a dispatch we received this morning, dated yesterday which was ns follows: Wm. ICd. , 'Squire Fleming an old residon of this place, in fact one of the oldest now living, is at present iu town on visit to his friends. He 6rst came here in 1820, when there were but three families here, to-wit: Mr. Range's, who Jived on the site of the preseu town, Poland Hunter, who lived on the property now occupied by Geo, Hunter, his grand-sou, and Mr. Noble, who lived across tho creek, on th property now .occupied by Wm. Hood Mr. Fleming und J. G. Dale built an nccupied the house where Jos. Grov now live f were married on the same day, aud lived there several years to gether. It la pleasant to meet these old landmarks who occasionally come back to look -over tho improvements they did so much to start, and we hope they will live many years to enjoy the honors of their early labors. 4 By direction of the Chairman of the Republican County Committee, we publibh the jjules of the Crawford Coucty 8)' stem, taken verbatim from Tlie Bee of 1868. It is claimed that there has been some changes in th rules as first adoptsd by the Republ cans of this County, but just w hen, o in what particulars they were changed we know not ' We suppose wo (hall be fully posted on the subject, an will try to post our readers before th primary elections. They carry beer kegs in trunks up at Warren, and sneak around the bnck way to the place where it is de posited and get outside of the fluid. Here the kegs are loaded on a wagon and dumped off at licenced hotels and restaurants, and if a man wants a drink he walks right in the front door and gets it, provided he has money enough. The reason there is more drank elsewhere than here, is because "stolen fruits are the sweetest." Rev. The Indians, in some parts of the West, are on the war-path. The U. S. Troops are attending to their case as fast as circumstances will permit. In some places the U. S. officers put the blame of the uprising upon the Indian traders, who by their reckless and brutal conduct have so exasper ated the Indians that the resort to arm? was a natural couscqucnce. Chas. Bonner, for a long time clerk in Robinson- & Bonner's store, has left this place for Stoneboro, at which place he will take a similar position in the store of Bonner & Co. Allen of Tidioute, who represented Warren County iu tho Legislature last winter, has bdtn re nominated by the Republicans of that County. Mr. Allen made a good Member, nnd we know of no man in Warreu county who would do the pos ition more honor or serve his constitu ents better. Col. C. B. We should judge that he had a fair chance of the nomi nation of the District. ' The nuble Aineeican game of base ball-is exciting considerable attention iu the town and cities around about us.
