There is nothing at present to Influence an upward movement, al though the market is largely oversold: Large return shipments of our bonds from Europe would, perhaps, Influence the gold market quicker and give rim, to rardd and wider fluctuations than any rumors concerning the Cuban question, or the issue of forty or fifty millions of Government bonds opened strong at an advance of yesterday's clotting quo tations, but: on lower. gold again de clined and aimed weak. Some large lots have been received from Europe against sales at high quotations, and the nreeent quotations will still leave a mar gin for return ahipments. The &diner' is nasally duo to the small purchases of bonds by the Government during the present month, but for the month of March a sharp rally is expected, since the currency balance in the Treasury has been so augmented as to enable the Secretary of the Treasury to buy bonds in large amounts for next month.
