Robert Gracey baringbeen called to the Chair, and Rev, John Douglas appointed Secretary, the meeting was opened with prayer by.lleir. Mr. Eerie. The committee appointed at the former meet . it% to prepare business, read their report, which was, on motion, unanimously adopted. *ln their , report. the Committee recommend, The furnishing of suitable employment for those who may come under the denomination of vagrants and drun',.,,,llde," as well as "the pre siding of instructien suited t o the necessities of the different subjects." . The following resolu tions, contained in the report were unanimously Resolved, That a committee of nine be appoint; ed, whose duty it shall bo to non their 'best en deavors to obtain such legislative action early in • the ceasing senior; of the Legislature as toy bp requisite to the complete carrying out of the ob jest of this meeting, viz: the,_ employmeht, in otruction and :reformation of dmnkards and va , - granti in Allegheny County. • 'Resolved, That said: committee he and are hereby authorized to endeavor to obtain the views ind co.opertition of the Judges of the County Courts, the Mayors of the cities of Pittabilrgh and Allegheny, the. Sheriff and Commissioners of the County, and CO correspond with the offi- Ceti of those counties in this Commonwealth who have adopted systems of reform similar to the one herein contemplated.
