But she arrived off an island on the south side of Cuba, discharged her cargo, and sat the steamer off under a full head of steam, and bolts in her bottom to go down into the deep bosom of the wean. But, by some strange mis management, she changed her course and mime ashore, under a full head of steam, where she was dicooverod by a Spanish men.of-war, thus leading t her capture, as well as that of her slaves landed. Yet heartily do J. rejoice that American vessels aro uo longer permitted to bring those Chinese to Cuba, for the trade, ne it has hitherto been earned on, -is an infamous one, maw:dated to brutalise men's, hearts, and render them-the victims of unholy huts for gain. More than one Amerloan officer of ships that have, brought Chinese to this island have admitted that the trade is In many of its features even worse than the African slave-trade, and what renders it peculiarly censurable is the few females that have been brought to this island. TREY MARX POOR LABORERS These Chinese make axe/tient- house servants, but are not, generally speaking, so well adapted for hard agricultural labors.
