The ' great Harrison election was not marked by equaliy startling numerical movements.- We have clubs et Wide-Awakes, Little Giants, Minute Men, dm., mustering by hundreds, and making pilgrimages of hundreds of miles to assist in promoting the suocess of elections in other States. The Republicans of this State havin4 elected their champions to places of trust, and scoured the whole strength of the State for the ensuing three years, now turn toward doubt ful New York, and are ably seconding the Repub licans Of that State for the struggle of November. Tho Republican Invinoibles, under the command of Marshal Walkinshaw ; the Campaign Club, ander - the command of Marshal Kern, and the Continentals, under Marshal Goforth, left the city en a pedal train, from the Kensington depot, at two o 'clock yesterday afternoon. They were all accompanied by bandit of music, and carried ban ners, flags, and transparencies. There were about four hundred men in line, all wearing clothing of uniform colors. All carried their lanterns, the plea of which were decorated with flags. The Campaign Club had about one hundred and fifty men in ranks, and among them were a number of prominent °Wrens, members of Congress, and ether high dignitaries. The Eighteenth.ward Defenders also wont on in Uniform. - They marched direst to the depot from thoir own headquarters, without coming into the city. The other clubs took a round through some 'of the principal streets before proceeding to Ken ,eington. As they left the depot yesterday, their blends, Resembled there in force, made multi -trainees cheers. They return to-night. The , Wigwam Guards leave this •afternoon at half past two o'olook, for Allentown, Lehigh county, to participate in the toroh-light parade at that place in the evening. They will number some eighty men,'nnd take with them the Am phiou Band. , The Douglas Campaign Club, and the Young Men's Douglas Club, or the Fifteenth ward, num bering about 300 men, attended by a fine band, made a parade through the 'etreeta yesterday after noon, and about five o'clock embarked on board a steamboat, at Chestnut. street wharf, for Wilming ton, Delaware. to participate in a grand Douglas demonstration, which was held there last evening. The exeuraioniere carried with them their lanterns, transparencies, and banners, bearing appropriate mottoes and inscriptions. Continued till this afternoon. Tun WAGS= FRES bravrrian OP SCIENCE. —The new building for this institution, at the southwest corner of Seventeenth and Montgomery streets, is now under roof. The friends of science and the members of the late classes will again be welcomed, during the coming spring, by their old profaners, in its fine looters room, the dimensions of which are 60 by 85 feet, with two galleries. The building will contain eight educational rooms, for the professors, in as many departments of science. The museum room is 150 feet long by 60 feet wide, with two galleries encompassing the entire build ing, The coiling of this apartment is 28 feet high, and it contains 24 windows. The roof is supported by trussed arebes, end &leered with a cement roof ing. The building is of briok, manufeotured on the premises, and the mortar made of sand taken from the foundations. The roof is lighted by four skylights; The architecture is Greco.floman, and its elevation Is 54leet. It stands upon the highest point of land between the Delaware and the Schuyl kill. Cornelius A. Raker. No. 710 Chestnut street, has been under going a series of fine improvements, which are now complete. A. etoey has been added, and the entire front glazed with superior French plate glass. The daring of the immense street windows is said to the lined piece of work in that lino in this city, the magnificent plates having been furnished by Mown. R. Shoemaker A. Co., the well-known im porters of plate glass, corner of Fourth and Race streets, including the two large mirror; fl anking the windows. The latter, en entering the front, present a very novel and beautiful Continuous ef fect, le that, standing in the entrance and looking east or west, the establishment, with its elegant ebandellere and bronze statuary, seems to extend a ware 'or more in either direction. It is cer tainly one of the finest specimens of plate-glass work on "Chestnut street, or any other, and has been so acknowledged by several gentlemen in this city who oontemplate snaking similar alterations is their premises. The interior of the store has been beautifully frescoed, and the whole es tablishfnent presents an air of elegance worthy the wide reputation of its enterprising occupants. TROTTING AT POINT BREEZE PARK.— There was a large attendance of visitors yesterday afternoon to witness two trots which were ell. flounced to take place at Point Breeze Park. The first was a two-mile retie to harness, beet two in three, for which hf. Goodwin entered bay mare Capitols, end W. King entered bay horse Brother gonathan. The track was in fine condition, and the heats were well contested. The first two heats mid the rani were worf by Capitols. Time-5.24 ; and 5.27 f Purse $5OO. RUNAWAY AND NARROW 1/30APE.—Yes tidily, afternoon, while a German in the employ of Adams' Express Company was riding on horse back, in rather a careless manner, in the neigh borhood of Eleventh and Lombard streets, the horse got frightened, and started up Lombard street at a &doss rate. Whon it had reached Thirteenth, the man was thrown from the saddle, and his foot becoming naught In the stirrup, he was dragged along till near Broad street, where his foot became disentangled, and he fell in the street. Re was picked up anti taken to a drug store in the neighborhood, whore his wounds were dressed, and than taken hems. The horse was stopped on Broad street. THE ALLEGITFINY COUNTY OX.—YeSterdsly morning, an es, a calf, sheep, bo., intended for the grand Curtin barbecue on Ridge avenue, wore carried through the streets on wagons. The line was beaded with a huge open omnibus, con taining a band of music. The horses were be decked with flags, the chariot and the wagons bore appropriate posters and inscriptions, and the ani mals in the vehicles were bedecked with ribbons. Tho display attracted much attention as it passed through the streets. DERANGED WOMAN FOUND.—Last eve ning, a deranged woman, apparently about 40 years of age, of rather prepossessing appearance, ogling herself Eliza Connelly was discovered by the pollee wandering in the neighborhood of Mor ris-street wharf, Past ward.
