PITTSBURGH AND STFLIIMINVLLLE RAILROAD A meeting of citizens of Pittsburgh and Alle gheny county, convened at the office of the Pittsburgh and Steubenville Railroad, on the 14th Wet, at 3 o'clock, P. M., under the follow ing Invitation : Office Pittsburgh and Steubenville R. R. Co., November 12, 1865. j At a meeting of the President and Directors of this Company, held this day, it was Resolved, That the Board invite the attend ance of such persons as are interested in the completion of this Road, whether as stockhold ers, or as tax payers responsible for the atm:mo rel investment of the city and county subecirlp tNn- otmore than one million of dollars, to oontder the necessary measures for that pur pose. From the minutes. SIDNEY F. Von BONNHORST, Bec'y. Your attendance is requested at a meeting to be held in pursuance of the above resolution, at the office of the Company, 144 Fourth street, at o'clock, P. M., on Wednesday, the 14th inst. finnewr F. VON Bossuoaar, Bee'y. Oa motion of B. T. Lech, Esq Ron. G. E. Warner was called to the Chair, acd Win. Bake 'Well. Esq., appointed Secretary. After a fall report of the present condition and circumstances of said Company, from lames 8. Craft, Eq., the President, by which it ap peared among other matters of Interest, that during the present administration of said Com pany, viz : since March last, its bills payable have been reduced $126,162 22, including notes to Br.dy'a Bend Company of $8,401 10. The interest on bonds, $29,662 40, placed in New York, (the debt there existing to contractors having been also since piticl, but now again in enure to about the same amount as then,) and the sum of $250,026 74, expended on the road bed, superstructure and equipment, so that the aggregate invested for these purposes is now $1,060,756 52, exclusive of profit and loss ac count, for which value has been received that could not now be obtained at the same price, and that only the further sum of $103,700 is requir ed to be expended to prepare the road for laying its iron. Final estimates have been ri turned as to the grading of twelve miles, exclusive of seven miles finished, Ironed and equipped at the western end. All but ono 8 , orlon of those un finished can be graded, and the bridges erected within two months, so that if the iron were now ready to be laid down, the road could be kept clear of the track layers, and prepared for run ning in, time for the spring trade. Calculations at to the probable revenue of the road were also bubmitted, by which it was ehowu that it would produce from the time it should be placed in fair running order, a nett revenue of ten per cent. on any required capi tal invested. Whereupon, on motion of James O'Hara Den ny, Seq., It was Resolved, That this meeting have received satisfactory evidence that the amount required to prepare the Pittsburgh and Steubenville rail road for laying its iron, is now reduced to $103,700. Proving the accuracy of the engi neers estimates, and that after tho expenditure of $1,061.256 52 (exclusive of discounts, &0.,) on the railroad, superstructure and equipments, and the certainty of said road being a Revenue Road, inasmetoli as it connects the reneisylvanis road, with a line (including said road) of nearly 1000 miles between Philadelphia and St. Louis, do earnestly recommend to every individual, citizen and tax payer of Pittsburgh, a,ld the county of Allegheny by subscriptions or mher wise, a vigorous effort to secure its completion, and that especially the 7 per cent mortgage bonds of said road, offer a safe and profitsble investment, as well as securing the ci.mred tout pletion of a valuable improvement fq which all our citizens as taxpayers are already largely in terested, and bound in some shape to see ac complished. Resolved, That the following gentlemen be a committee to collect subsctrintions of stock to th‘amount of $lOO,OOO, or obtain subscriptions to the mortgage bonds of said company, in ad dition to those already made in Paris and Phi ladelphia, inasmuch as the extension of such oubsoriptions elsewhere will be greatly stimu lated by liberal subscriptions at home. It exhibits again this evening at 74 o'clock, at !Ansonia Hall.— An interesting feature of the exhibition is the explanatory lecture by Mr. Geo.
