Another badly needed improvement in Bellefonte is a com- plete house-numbering system. This project has been proposed on a num- ber of occasions by Bellefonte Bore outh Council, but has never been finally approved for variogs reasons. The Retail Division of the Cham- ber of Commerce believes this pro- ject could be carried out by indi- viduals at practically no cost. It is suggested that each person deter- mine the number of his home and place of business, and have the num- ber posted conspicuously at the en- trance. «The proposal made at the an- nual organization meeting of the Brooks<Doll Post, Ame:iican Legion, Monday night. to establish a com- munity swimming pool and play- ground at the Phoenix Mill property is one that deserves every considera- tion. Bellefonte has no outdoor swimming pools, no parks, no recre- ation centers. That the need for a swimming pool exists is evident on any warm summer day when Belle- fonte residents flock to pools at Pleasant Gap, Hecla Park, Beech Creek, Moshannon, and other even more distant placeg to enjoy a sport which should be provided right here. Many children are forced to resort to smal] pools along Spring Creek, where there is always great danger of hidden rocks, tin cans, broken bottles and similar debris causing injuries. It is highly probable that the labor required in building a swimming pool and park at the Phoenix Mill would be provided by L.
