YOUNGSVILLE (Warren Co.) The Warren County Dairy Hen) Improvement and Holstein Club recently held their annual meeting at the Columbus Com munity Center, Columbus. The top dairy herds in Warren County were presented with spe cial awards. The highest herd in protein, milk, and butterfat was that of Randall Messinger, Spring Creek. His herd of 60 Holstein cows aver aged 719 pounds of protein, 22,475 pounds of milk, and 814 pounds of butterfat Messinger re ceived plaques sponsored by Northwest Savings Bank, Nation al City, and PNC Bank respective- ly. He had a 1,561-pound increase in milk and a 68-pound increase in butterfat Perm West Farm Credit sponsored the milk plaque and Mosher Mobile Mill ing and Nutrena Feeds sponsored the butterfat plaque that Lindell won. The high cow in butterfat pro duction was from the Lindell herd. The 5-year-old Holstein cow pro duced 1,173 pounds of butterfat Lindell received a trophy spon sored by Youngsville Agway. The herd owned by Wayne Gruber had a low so matic cell count of 114,000. He re ceived a plaque sponsored by Rus sell Veterinary Hospital. Willard Hitchcock, owner of Foggy Meadows Farm of Lander had the highest cow in protein and milk production. The 6-year-old Holstein cow named Glo pro duced 1,039 pounds of protein and 34,866 pounds of milk.
