The archery team included Kan dy Mullen of Peach Bottom, Dere Stoner of Lancaster, Chris Reeder of Little Britain, and Mike Hart man of Paradise. Zoann Parker, 4-H extension agent, said that most of the 43 countians who participated in the 3-day competition placed in the top 10. “It shows that our volunteer leaders are trained well and are passing that knowledge on to our 4-H’ers as well,” Parker said. Last year a Lancaster County team also placed first in archery competition. Each 4-H’er is allow ed to participate in only one category. Jimmy Mullen said that he had a choice between com peting in archery or public speaking. “I’m glad I chose public speaking,” he said. The 43 participants returned to Lancaster Thursday afternoon. They were hot, tired, and sweating from the intense heat and the long drive in a school bus. “The trip and hard work was well worth it. It’s what we have been training for all year,” Livingood said. Placings for 4-H’ers in other counties will be published when Lancas ter Farming receives the information. m
