N.Y. Orange Annual Session Set SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y, Some 300 people from 48 counties will gather here October 22-26 for the 121st annual session of the New York State Grange. More than half of those people are official delegates to the con vention, and they’ll spend the bet ter part of the long weekend work ing on resolutions that will shape Grange policy for the coming year. “We’re happy to be getting to this time of year again because State Session is so vital to what Grange is all about,” said state master William Benson, Jr. “More and more we are being looked to as a leading voice for rural resi dents, and State Session gives us the opportunity to focus as a group on some of the things that need to be addressed.” Meeting at the Holiday Inn, Grangers will consider more than 100 resolutions from sponsoring WHO’S CONTROLLING TOUR BROILER HOUSE INLETTING WHEN YOU ARE NOT THERE? They will address areas of concern in agriculture, conser vation, education, federal citizenship/public affairs, health, labor and judiciary, state citizenship/public affairs, taxation and fiscal responsibility, and transportation, forwarding any adopted resolutions for considera tion at the National Grange Con vention in Cleveland next month. Festivities will open on Friday night, October 22, with the annual banquet. Remarks there will be offered by Benson, a retired IBM executive from Dutchess County who is finishing his fourth year as leader of the 20,000-membcr organization. Other session high lights will include a Saturday, October 23 talk by New York State Regent Carl T. Hayden, and a Monday, October 25 address by New York State Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets Rkjhard McGuire.
