Offers Powershift Transmiss pectations of these customers.” The 9600 Series, built at AG CO’s Independence, Missouri plant, has four distinct new mod els in seven configurations. The 9630, at 133 PTO HP, the 9650, at 147 PTO HP, the 9670, at 170 PT HP and the 9690, at 191 PTO HP offer several outstanding features as standard equipment; including the full powershift transmission, an improved deluxe, iso-mounted cab and an air-cooled, turbo charged diesel engine. Providing 18 forward and nine reverse speeds, the new full powershift transmission allows shifting on-thc-go with single lever electronic control. This elec tronic shifting, regulated by a mi croprocessor, effectively and ac ness News curately provides a vast range of forward and reverse speed incre ments. The same lever controls shuttle shifting from forward to reverse without clutching. Pulse shifting and electronic control allow the automatic “speed matching” feature to effi ciently and instantly match trans mission gear to engine speed and ground speed. Preselected forward or reverse shuttle speeds make fre quent speed and direction changes easy for loader applications. “The new full powershift trans mission is just one of the high-tech features that separates the 9600 series from the competition,” said Shumejda. “The farmer will get more work done faster with the full powershift feature and will be much more comfortable doing it with the improved deluxe cab.” The cab-forward design of the 9600 Series provides a smoother, more comfortable ride. Fifteen inches farther forward and two inches higher than previous mod els, the cab’s location allows for a better view of what is in front and to the sides. It also greatly im proves the line of sight p the rear hitch, A Grammer seat with automatic load control swiv els to the right 10 degrees and left 20 degrees, making it easier to sec your work and convenient for en tering and exiting the cab. A fold ing passenger seat with a seatbelt has been added to the left console. The throttle and transmission controls have been consolidated in the operator’s seat itself. Located in the seat’s right-hand control console, this arrangement makes shifting movements comfortable and logical and single gear selec tion is easy in rough field condi tions. A one-piece hood that tilts up from the back and a nose cowling that removes without tools, make for easy access to the Deutz in-line six cylinder, air-cooled, turbo charged diesel engine. This rug ged, low-maintenance, state-of the-art engine is designed to de velop high torque rise while being fuel efficient. The optional all-wheel-drive (standard on the 9690) has been redesigned to allow on-the-go en gagement for added convenience.
