HARRISBURG The Penn sylvania Beef Council elected its 1988-89 slate of officers aTt retent board of directors meeting in Har risburg. J. Paul Espy, a Hunting don County beef producer was unanimously, elected chairman of die Council. Scott Yocum, of Penns Valley Livestock Auction, Centre Hall, Centre County was elected chairman-elect, and Ray Grimes of McKnightstown, Adams County, was re-elected as vice chairman. Mildred Bunting, editor of the “Lancaster Livestock Reporter” was reelected as secretary of the Council, while Dr. Lowell L. The Council was formed to advance the image and desirability of beef and beef products by improving its competitive position and to stimu late sales of beef, veal and beef by products in Pennsylvania and nationally. The PBC administers the National Beef Promotion and Research checkoff, which utilizes producer funds to finance research, education, promotion, consumer and industry informa tion programs about beef and veal.
