B24—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, July 14,1984 Berks FFA LEESPORT - The Berks County FFA Chapters announce their annual Market Hog Show and Sale at Leesport Auction on Wednesday, August 1. The show will begin at 9:30 a.m. and the sale will begin at approximately 7 p.m. About fifty head of market hogs will be consigned to this sale. They are the efforts of supervised far ming programs of boys and girls enrolled in Vocational Agriculture and the FFA. This program is part of the high school education of boys and girls who have a futrue in farming and/or agriculture business. The Market Hog Show will begin at 9:30 a.m. with hogs shown in the Warren County participates in S'COOL program RUSSELL Providing refreshing cold milk for children in the schools is the goal of the “S’COOLMILK” Program. The Warren Co. Dairy Promotion Committee and the Warren County School District are jointly working on this program. “S’COOL MILK” was designed to help the cafeteria personnel assure that good quality milk is delivered and served to their students. The “S’COOL MILK” packet contains brochures that instruct hog show, sale on Aug. 1 following order and weight classes: Lightweight, 180-200 pounds; Mediumweight, 201-220 pounds; Heavyweight, 221-240. A Grand Champion and a Reserve Champion of the show will be chosen from the first and second place winners in each weight class. Grand Champion and Reserve Champion trophies will be presented at the end of the show which will be about noon. The Market Hog Sale will begin at approximately 7 p.m. All hogs in the show will be sold in lots ac cording to weight entered by the exhibitor and under the rules and regulations of the Leesport Auc tion. cafeteria personnel in each school how to handle, store, and serve milk properly.
