Wismer characterized the en deavor as “not a big production sale and not a dealer sale,” but a chance for farmers to buy some above average cattle and a chance for others to sell off some surplus. The idea for the sale, said Wismer, was conceived last fall and Grange members canvassed the state for selections as early as May of ’B2. “We’ve had great response and cooperation from members. I feel Ida Jane and Leroy Plance flank their recent Grange purchase, Ker-Min Fury Teresa. The 6-year-old Hosltien bred to Char Sam Elevation Pabst topped the sale with a $2,225 bid. The 87-point cow, bred to Char Sam Elevation Pabst and sired by Moon-Glow Fury Tidy, was purchased by Ida Jane and Leroy Fiance of Wellsboro. The sale averaged $l,OOO on 46 head for an unofficial gross of .State. more than $54,000, according to auctioneer and Granger Everett Kreider. Lebanon dairyman Steve Wenger paid $2,000 for a 3-year-old Jo-Dan BE Ivan daughter, con signed by Dean Baity of Tioga County. The black and white is Emma-Dean DE Ivan Selma brought second high bid of $2,000 from Lebanon dairyman Steve Wenger.
