The school consisted of a senes of evening sessions which covered calf and heifer management, dry cow management, improving milk production and dairy health. “The purpose of this school is to take a small group of dairymen and help them further develop sound management, good feeding, careful sanitation and breeding programs, which will ultimately bring greater profits to their dairy operation”, saysKmsely. “We also plan to schedule more Step By Step Schools on a con tinuous basis throughout the year.” . Similar schools are held throughout the country by Purina Dealers with the aid of Ralston Purina Representatives and local veterinarians. Knisely explained further that there is no obligation to attend a Step By Step School. “Progressive dairymen are always interested in increasing the profitability of their operations and we feel we help them reach then: goals by holding these training sessions,” he said. Raison Purina Representatives Gene Hubbard and Greg Much more, along with Dr. Dave Griswold, DVM were instructors involved with this Step By Step School which lasted six weeks. The graduation ceremony was held m Carlisle. Featured at the graduation were Greg Muchmore, Gerald Jones, Stanley Remford, Dr. Dave Griswold, Ed Kmsely, Steve Brymesser, Charles Kosher and Delmar Cornman.
