The Fair Grounds are located just off U.S. Rt. 6, halfway between Mansfield, andWellsboro. The Fair is sponsored by the Tioga County Agricultural Association and is one of the top county fairs in Pennsylvania. The six days are packed full of a variety of events that will be of interest to the entire family. The Fair committee went all out on entertainment this year and booked Kenny Price, of the famous country music comedy TV show “Hee- Haw” for two shows on Friday, August 15. Also appearing during the week mil be the bluegrass group “Whetstone Run”, and a concert on Wednesday, August 13, by the Allegheny String Band. Monday, August 11, will feature a Grange program at 7:30 p.m., and a fireworks display at dusk. Fair entries will be accepted beginning at 8 a.m., and all entries, in cluding livestock and commercial exhibits, must be entered by 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, is Family Day. Wednesday, August 13, highlights include 4-H and FFA Dairy Show at 9:30 a.m., a pony pull at 6:30 p.m., a horseshoe tour nament at 7 p.m., a concert by the Allegheny String Band from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and a country hoe down concert and square dance from 10 p.m., to midnight. Thursday, August 14, is Senior Citizen’s Day, and there will be free admission to the grounds from 9 a.m., to 5 p.m., for those 62 years old and above. The Farmers’ Market will run throughout the day, and there will be a colored breed and a swine show at 9 a.m. An open and Junior beef show is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., and the Bob Doyle Show will be presented free at 2 p.m., and 3 p.m. The Pageant Wagon Show will be staged at 7:30 p.m., and the blue grass group “The Buffalo Chipkickers” will be on stage from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday highlights will include an open holstem show and a 4-H and Vocational Horse Show in the morning. A horse pull will be staged at noon and at 7 p.m. a farm class tractor and 4WD pick-up pull, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and will round out the day’s ac tivities. Saturday morning will feature an Open Horse Show and a market animal sale. A demolition derby is slated for 8 p.m., and a disco dance at 8:30 p.m., will close out the Fair.
