Lehigh Co, livestock club members honored GERMANSVILLE - Members of the Lehigh County 4-H Beef, Sheep and Swine Clubs received special recognition at a dinner - square dance program, on Saturday evening December 8. Approximately 250 4-H members, families and leaders attended this final 1979 activity co-sponsored by the three 4-H livestock groups. The Lehigh Beef Club presented awards to those Lehigh County Beef Club members were recognized during an awards dinner at the Ger mansville Fire Hall. The reserve showman honor went to Dean Ruch of New Ringgold. The award was supplied by Erdenheim Farm. The steer with the best rate of gain, two pounds per day, was owned by Darin Ruch, New Ringgold. Pat- Ric Farms sponsored the award. Kenny Ruch received the coveted outstanding member award, supplied by Krause Farm. In addition to club awards, the Beef Club honored the senior livestock judging team. The team included Gail Snyder, Sarah Fretz, Zionsville; Diane Krause, and Kenny Ruch. Their awards were sponsored by Schochary Ridge Farm and Charles S. Snyder, Inc. As mentioned earlier, Gail Snyder earned the senior showman and fitter awards that were presented by the Sheep Club.
