April 20. 1974 USDA Announces Rural community leaders from 12 Midwest states are invited to apply for enrollment in the third national rural development leaders school, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced today. The school, scheduled June 24. 1974, in the Illini Jnion at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, is open to residents of Illinois, Indiana, lowa, Kansas, Michigan, Min nesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Purpose of the school is to help participants discover how to be more effective in improving the quality of life in rural America, according to Dr. Walter A. Guntharp, administrator of USDA’s Rural Development Service. The March uniform price for base milk in federal order 4 increased 11 cents from the previous month and excess milk showed an in crease of 40 cents, according to Andrew A. Marvin, Ephrata, fieldman for Inter- State Milk Producers Cooperative. In comparison to March levels one year ago base milk was up $2.29 and excess up $1.87 cwt. The weighted average price for the market was increased by $2.20, above March 1973. A total of 395.6 million pounds of producer milk was pooled in March of which 60.20 percent was sold as Class I, showing a decrease of 3.02 percent of deliveries made in February, and a decrease of 6.1 percent under March a year ago. 7843 Order No. 4 producers provided 12.76 million pounds per day to dealers during March, averaging Street Address & R.D.
