Photo by: WES TOMLINSON A Truce Negotiated In DeBella-Stern Radio Feud By Carolyn Castelli Did you ever think that you would be listening to John DeBella on the radio again, after what Howard Stern did to him ? What is more ironic, did you think that he would be working on the same radio station as Howard Stern? Well, it is true. Even though these two had been fierce enemies before, DeBella swallowed his pride and is now working on the same station as Howard. Stern years ago pledged to beat DeBella in the morning show ratings and did just that, through, the use of his tasteless ridiculing and harassing. Stern forced DeBella’s formerly top-rated morning show, The Morning Zoo, off the airwaves, and most listeners thought Stern had forced DeBella out of radio forever. After being a guest on Howard's show, DeBella admitted to Howard that he had won, and that he would just like to work in radio again. Then on Monday, November 14, he became the afternoon-drive man on the station 94.1 WYSP. He will be on the air every weekday from 2 to 6 p.m. DeBella’s new show is simply called The John DeBella Show. It will feature only himand no sidekicks, like his previous show. "You Will Know" performed by BMU (Black Men United) is a must hear. This is an excellent song. It is well written and well sung. It sends a positive message to black males. It was written by D'Angelo and Luther Archer, and produced by Brian McKnight. R&B entertainers from all over came to participate in the BMU group singing: Gerald Levert, Brian McKnight, Aaron Hall, H Town, Boys IT Men, Tevin Campbell, El Debarge, R Kelly, Tony Toni Tone, Keith Sweat, Christopher Williams, Silk, Stokley of Mint Condition, Portrait, Al B. Sure, Damion Hall, Lil' Joe of the Rude Boys, Dr. Joho Ousey, Associate Pro fessor of Earth Science, recently per- formed on his euphonium with the sixty piece Chester County Band. Photo by: WES TOMLINSON “Movie Review Intro, DRS, After 7, Usher, Sovory, D'Angelo, and Lenny Kravitz on the guitar. Brian McKnight picked who he wanted in the group and who he wanted to sing solos. Though everyone did not geta chance to sing a solo, there will be more songs coming out, so everyone will eventually get the chance to do a solo part. On another note, Gerald Levert's latest singles, "I Just Can't Help Myself," which was originally on the Strapped soundtrack, an HBO original movie done by Forest Whitaker, and "I'll Do Anything To Fall In Love," are just two of the most beautiful songs out. They give a feeling of warmth and togetherness. Anyone who hasn't heard these songs yet should do so right away. Check Out New Album Releases By Norman Castiello Has dial flipping on your radio just worn your fingers out? Or has listening to the same old song, ten times in one hour, have you just turn the radio off and whistle? Well if it has, some hot musicians have new tracks just released. May we suggest the following recent album release: 1. Pearl Jam- On Vinyl 2. Bon Jovi - Cross Road 3. The Cranberries - No Need To Argue 4. Aerosmith - Greatest Hits 5. Eric Clapton - From The Cradle As of now, the only concert scheduled is Aerosmith on December 10 at the Philadelphia Spectrum. However, the concert is almost a sellout. ‘Interview With A Vampire’ Does Real Justice to Source By Rob Servian Finally, a movie that does the admission Saturday morning till noon. book it was derived from, justice. Delco campus invaded by hundred of seagulls moving inland from the coast to avoid the onslaught of the winds whipped-up by Hurricane Gor- don. Photo by: WES TOMLINSON Interview With the Vampire, based on the book by Anne Rice, is an incredible movie. The audience is captured in the screen, into the world of the vampire. The movie stars Tom Cruise as Lestat and Brad Pitt as Louis. It opens with Louis about to conduct an interview with a reporter (played by Christian Slater) about his life. The movie runs chronologically through the ages which Louis lived through. It depicts trials and tribulations of being a vampire. Louis recalls specific times, people, and places which contributed to his growth as a vampire. Tom Cruise acts sparingly in the movie but holds an important part. He was the beginning, the father if you will, of Louis’ dark life. Cruise played his role brilliantly. The movie takes an unexpected twist at the end that offers definite sequel potential. I rate this movie 3 1/2 stars out of 4, two thumbs up! nN > t i a
