The real action begins when McDougall (Quaid), a reporter for the New York City Sun, overhears the arresting officers via a police scanner saying that the arrest wasn’t on the up-and-up, that the kids were innocent and they knew it. McDougall and Henry (Keaton), an editor at the Sun, have to come up with a statement from a contact within the police department to corroborate what they heard on the scanner. Of course, this is not easy. The contact doesn’t want to give the information that would blow this case Penn State fans! One of the kids accused of the crime is said to be an honor student, and the other is getting ready to go to none other than Penn State to play football for the Nittany Lions! All-in-all, this movie was believable. The dialogue was real, and the issue of integrity was not undermined by what appeared to be a race-related crime. I would definitely recommend this film to just about anyone looking for a movie that not only entertained, but managed to restore a little faith in the dog-eat-dog . Sh.. = . .
