SPORTS Big 10 Bound!! by Tony Guzzardo Sports Editor The Atlantic 10 has hosted 13 Penn State varsity sports programs, except football. In December of 1989, to the surprise of many Penn Staters, Including myself, the University athletic program decided It was time for a change. That change was a jump into the conference called the BIG 10. One of the main issues concerning this move was money. The Penn State athletic programs are supported by football revenue. The Jump to the Big 10 would give the football team more national exposure and possible bowl bids, including the Rose Bowl, which could bring us tremendously more amounts of revenue. In this respect it's a good idea. Sports Editors note: Anybody who has an opinion on this subject, or any other sports matter, write it down and drop it off at the COLLEGIAN office.
