RHC Hi, I hope everyone is en joying themselves. If not, RHC has quite a few events coming up in the near future that can definitely change that. Once again, RHC is planning the annual Road Ralley which will most likely be held during Spring week. Last years Road Ralley was a huge success; and we are aiming to make this years an even better one. Look for details coming up soon. We are also planning to hold something very different. It’s called the room-mates. This show will be run the same way as the television show, The Newlyweds. Each floor will have the opportunity to select a pair of room-mates to play for a cash prize that will go to the floor treasury. The Council is also looking in to having a Spring Carnival this year. Once the details are worked out, I will be able to give you a little more in formation on this matter. We are in the process of having the Residence Hall named. Highacres Hall was the name selected in an election held last spring term. A committee was formed and they are now working on the procedures of how to name a University building. On January 31, RHC will present George Miller ai his one man show. The title this event is called “An evenir vith Mark Twain.” We are ; to bring this show to you the mini grant which we rt ived from University Park. The weekend of Januarj 27-28 will be the RHC-SUB 'inter Weekend. Look for upcom ng in formation concerning this <. vent. The second floor guys are now in the process of planning a Disco-sucks dance which will be held in the near future. The Ping-Pong tournament was won by Joe Broschak. The Recreation committee is also holding a ping-pong doubles tournament, along with pool and pinochle tournaments. You may enter one of these tournaments by simply signing up for one on the bulletin board right outside the lobby of the Residence Hall. The Residence Hall Council will have their pictures taken at Farkus Studios sometime during The week of February 4th to 10th, 1979, will be a very im portant one for the Circle K Club. This week is set aside nationally as Circle K Week. Cir cle K Week is an annual event dating back to 1966. During this week all of the Circle K clubs will be doing something to carry out this year’s administrative theme, Embrace Humanity. Our local projects for this week will include the recruiting of the new members and the First Annual Circle K Bowl-A-Thon, better known as project Strike Out Ar thritis. Also in observance of Circle K Week, Dr. William David, Campus Director, will sign a proclamation officially designating February 4th to 10th as Circle K Week on the Hazleton Campus. Other activities include a day of bell ringing for the Salvation Army at the Laurel Mall, and a visit to the residents of the Lutheran Nursing Home in Hazleton. Once again I would Bowl-A-Thon Feb. 9& 10 the middle of February Our advisor, Mr. Shea is trying to get the gym open for students on Saturday and Sun day afternoons. Well, that’s all I have to say right now. Once again I remind you that our meetings are held every Monday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Residence Hall Lob- Circle K like to take the opportunity to thank the staff of the Ad ministration building for their continued support of our nursing home project. The ladies pooled their efforts by providing cookies and candy for us to take and distribute at the nursing home. I also wish to announce two administrative appointments; Marianne Pindar to the post of Public Relations Director and Mark Johnson as Chairman of - the Fund Raising Committee. Both of these individuals have served the club well in the past, and surely they will continue to do so in their new assignments. The upcoming events to keep in mind are as follows: Circle K Week, February 4th to 10th, Strike Out Arthritis, February 9th and 10th, and a lollipop sale for the benefit of the Heart Association, February 14th. by. This will be held the 27th and 28th of January. Saturday will be an ice skating party with place and time to be announced. Sunday there will be skiing at THE COVE VACATION VILLAGE, 2 miles west of Eagle Rock. There will be a student discount from 9 to 4:30. Also on sale now are flowers for Valentines Day. The flowers have different ribbons attached to them with different meanings and with a name or sent an nomously. Flowers are 75 cents for one and $1.25 for two. The first full week in February the sth to 9th is tour nament week in the Commons Ping-Pong, air hockey, pinball, billards, bowling, backgammon and chess will be offered. Fur ther information will be posted. February 7th the Student Union Board will be holding a square dance, in the Commons on Valentines Day the 14th is Lounge Lizard Day and the distribution of Valentine Day flowers. To kick off the Spring Term the Union Board is holding its annual Movie Orgy on March 9th-10th, 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. Twelve solid hours of movies (First Men On The Moon, General Spanky, Them, Casino Royale, Raven, Theif Of Bagdad, plus cartoons). Lounge Lizard Day for March is the 14th and on the 16th the Student Union Board will be celebrating St. Patricks Day, featuring Bob Doyle and hopefully green beer.
