TARNHELM Tarnhelm is sponsering a one-day bus trip to New York on Saturday November 11, to see Gogol's Re Inspector Gen eral at The Circle in the Square Theater. labeled "the greatest Rus sian play ever written" by the scholar Nabkov, this sparkling comedy is directed by Liviv Civlei and has received an excellent review by Brendan Gill in the New Yorker. Cirle in the Square is a beautiful theater in the round that insures superb seating for every one. Tickets are available at half price for this group outing, and will sell for six dollars per person. All students, faculty, and staff of Capitol Campus are welcome to join the group, and guests are welcome. Persons interested in going to the play may purchase or reserve tickets from Jill Hart, secretary of the Humanities department, office W 360. All tickets must be paid for by Monday, Oct. 16. The price for the bus tickets will be approxi mately nine dollars and must be paid at the same time. Total cost per person will be fifteen dollars for both tickets. 41 seats are available for the trip. Wonder Radio 640 is delay ing broadcasting to dorms, the Heights and the Dining Hall until they can purchase a new transmitter or get its old trans mitter rebuilt. "We can probably get it all together in a couple of weeks if we get enough interested peo ple," program director Phil Gigert said. We apologize that the band that was supposed to show up at our keggar on September 29th--did not. "Grand Slam" was scheduled to perform, but due to some discrepancy, which we have not figured out yet, they cancelled out. Instead, "The People" jived with fun and funky song until 2 a.m. Hope you all had a good time at the Student Center anyway. Our next Keggar is sche duled for October 28th at the Middletown Hunters and An glers Club. Maps, band, and the time and price of the event will be announced shortly. The XGI football team be gins its intra-mural season this week—we're hog* for the best, if that's possible. The fraternity is still open for membership. Club News Social Committee The Social Committee of the Student Government is looking for new members. It is the function of this committee to provide social activities for the student body. Anyone who is interested should attend the meetings which are every Wednesday in Room 216 at 3:30 Our first activity this year will be the "Autumn Bash" to be held in the Student Center on October 10 starting at 9:00 P.M. Beta Chi, the Capitol Cam pus Chapter of the Society for Advancement of Management, will hold its meetings on every other Tuesday, starting Oct tober 10 at 3:15 in room E 330. All students are urged to join. As a result of participating in the programs of the Campus Chapter - the student SAM member will: a) increase his understanding of professional management b) have the opportunity to prepare for the transition to his first post college position c) experience and begin to develop management skills d) have an opportunity to reconcile theory with actual business practice by associating with the practicing manager. This year we will have guest i:t Bell of Pennsylvania Beta Chi Most students play by the rules when placing a long distance call. They take advantage of bar gain rates and make their calls during the discount periods. If you're not sure when you can call at discount rates, check your phone book. A few students think it's O.K. to break the rules by stealing their telephone calls. They're not beat ing the system, they're taking advantage of all of us, because it drives up the cost of providing telephone service. Students who break the rules also run the risk of paying a large fine. Spending time in jail. And getting themselves a permanent police record.
