Well, everyone does now! Students and their families are invited to the 1996 Parents & Families Weekend Oct. 4 -6. This Penn State - Behrend tradition combines Homecoming and three days of activities in an effort to create a weekend where parents, families' and alumni can return and celebrate what it is to be Behrend, said Chris Rizzo, Director of Student Activities about October’s Parents & Families Weekend. People could be in a chariot race, winning a point in volleyball or soccer, or even participating in an eating fest. . . and these are only just a few of the activities going on this Homecoming weekend. art plastics labs, some that are unparalleled around the country. The complex is comprised of four different buildings named the James O. Benson building, the Joseph J, Prischak building, the R.J. Fasenmyer building and the Wilkowski building that are all connected by the Roche Hall. Outside of the complex, there is a courtyard called the Loranger Plaza. In addition to the plastics labs, there are many computer labs that support the research and learning that are necessary to flourish in the Engineering world. A highlight of the complex is the Plastics Technology Deployment Center. It has been in operation for three years and is a combined partnership between Behrend and the Clevland Advanced Manufacturing Program. This partnership has already had a 14 million dollar impact on the technology of western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio in its three short years. Most of the contributors were local manufactures who really wanted to make a difference and saw that by donating to this cause they could be helping their industry greatly.
