On Tuesday after noon Justice Zinn, of Carlisle, commit ted a man named Robert Brown, who was arrested near Landiaburg, on a war rant made to Sheriff Gill. The Sheriff had deputized David S. Carbaugh, who arrested the man and he was com mitted for a hearing on the 28th Inst., on a charge of being associated with the robbery and burglary of George Mc Keehan, in West Pennsboro township. A lot of tramps on Monday took possession of a freight train this side of Huntingdon, and compelled the engineerto run as far as Lewistown. Here they got off the train, and took to the tow path, but officers Garret and Clum with a posse made pursuit and captured nine of them, the rest, some half a dozen, escaping. It is said that in the struggle with the engineer, they broke his arm. Lewistown Democrat. A Stolen Saw Mill. This Is the very worst caBe of stealing we have yet notic ed : County Treasurer D. F. Chestnut, of Fulton county, owned a saw mill a few weeks ago, but when he went to look for it the other day he found Jt gone wrenches, saws, saw sets,clevlces, dogs, crow-bars, logs and in fact the whole concern. He now sits on the banks of the tail race with a whole armory besides him ' waiting for the thief to return for the water power. Alas, the opening of a chestnut bur. Valley Sentinel. Aeeldent at a Raising. A Liverpool correspondent sends us the following: A few days ago Mr. Henry Barner raised the frame for a saw mill in the. lower end of Susquehanna township, Juniata county. Everything went off nicely till the plate was up when Samuel Glace, took a heavy maul to drive in the tenon. He was standing on the cross tie at the time and as he struck, he miss ed his stroke, the maul going beyond the mark striking John A. Buyer on the head, knocking hiin senseless. Fortu nately be was not seriously injured. A young man named Kea?ter was also struck by the same maul, but soon re covered, and wanted to know what had hit him.
