Miss Engle, who is retiring after 43 years of service to the hospital, has seen more than 85,000 babies born under her care. A native of Mount Joy, she graduated from the hospi- tal’s school of nursing in 1932 and began her service the same year. She was named assistant supervisor of maternity in 1940 and took over the top spot in 1946. The Bermuda trip was presented to her by obste- tricians and gynecologists at the hospital. Rummage sale The women of St. Mary’s Church in Mount Joy will hold a rummage sale on November 1 from 9-1. This is a clearance sale of all items on hand — there will be no more rummage sales until the early spring. The sale will be held in the barn behind the Sheetz Funeral Home. Tax penalty Jay R. Houseal, your friendly neighborhood tax collector, wishes to remind the tax payers of Donegal School District that a five percent penalty will be added to all unpaid taxes as of November 1, 1975.
