MARK’S UMC The Evangelism Commis- sion of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 27—29 East Main St., Mount Joy, has announced plans for the conducting of a special series of meetings during the month of Oct. For five nights, Sunday through Thursday (October 12 to 16) at 7:30 p.m. each evening the congregation and friends from the community will hear messages by Dr. Kenneth Krueger, Senior Pastor of the Fairview United Methodist Church, Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Krue- ger’s theme for six sermons is ‘“Wonderful Words of Life’. several of the parables of Jesus. In preparation for the special meetings the con- gregation is presently en- gaging in four Wednesday evening cottage gatherings at eight locations through- out the area. Locations and leaders vary each week. During the week previous to the services, members of the congregation will en- gage in friendly visitation, encouraging persons to at- tend the series. On the morning of Sun- day, October 12, there will be a Prayer Breakfast for the entire church at 7:30 a.m. Dr. Krueger will speak at the 10:15 service on the theme ‘‘The Searching Shepherd’ (Luke 15:1-7). During the week of meetings there will be a Bible study at the church each morning at 10 a.m. for one hour under the leader- ship of Dr. Krueger to which any one is invited. Talk-back sessions will follow the evening services. Each evening there will be a period of singspiration preceeding the service and there will be special musical selections during the meet- ings.
