The Mount Joy Welcome Wagon Club held its second official board meeting Sep- tember 3, 1975 at 8:00 p.m. at the home of Thelma Rankin, the newly elected First Vice President. The vear's program schedule was submitted by Mrs. Rankin and approved by the board. The first Club coffee for prospective members was held at Wendy Gentile, Membership Chairman’s home on August 26. The next coffee is scheduled for Singles Club this Sat. in The Tri-City Singles Club will hold a dance at Carpenter's Inn in Eliza- bethtown this Saturday, September 13, from 9:30 p.m. till 1:30 a.m. All single (unmarried, divorced, widowed, separated) men and women, 21 vears old and older are invited to have an enjoyable evening and make new friends. Three members of the 12 member council ofs the Tricitics Club, which in- cludes the areas around Harrisburg. Lancaster, and York, are from Elizabeth- town. One of these E-Town council members finds it very appropriate, therefore, that Elizabethtown should play host to the Club at this Saturday's dance. It was noted at the previous board meeting held at Lois Phalen’s president, that three new chairpeople were needed to fill some vacancies. The following will be chaired by: Judy Novinger - Community Service, Ruth Pekarek, Par- limentarium, and Pat Weatherbie - Telephone Committee. Qur Christmas Bazaar will be held November 15, 1975 at Park City, Gimbels Mall. to hold dance Elizabethtown bethtown is also a conveni- ent location for the event, because it is centrally located between the three cities. The club has started a new program which includes many more activities besides dances. Special interest groups of singles are being organized, made up of people interested in travel, theatre, football, bowling, hunting, fishing, cycling, skating, swimming, cooking, decorating, gar- dening, reading, crafts, art or music, etc. Almost any and every interest a person might have can be shared with other single people having the same interest. Information about all the activities of the Singles Club can be obtained at this Saturday's dance. THAT “NICE” STRANGER IS OUT TO GET YOUR MONEY. Ruth Moore, chairman had a meeting at her house September 8 to make more items. The Club’s crafts groups will resume this fall with the first meeting for planning this year’s crafts to be held at Judy Miller's September 11 at 8:00 p.m. Teaching classes begin Sept. 25 at Sandy Shelly's. "A trip to New York City on December 6 is definitely in the making and all girls interested MUST have a $4.50 deposit at the Septem- ber 17 dinner meeting. The total cost is $12.50 plus your personal expenses. The first dinner meeting will be held September 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mount Joy American Legion.
