A August 20, 1975 © St. John’s Lutheran church, Maytown é Bicentennial Committe plans In response to many requests that Maytown plan a tour of old homes, the Bicentennial Committee are in final stages of arranging such an event. Some of the homes to be open were included in last year’s Walk Into History; others have been added: In addition to the hospital- ity of the homes, area churches will be open. The choir of St. John’s Lutheran will present a half-hour musicale at 3 p.m. and the Bainbridge Band will play ' their annual (free) concert in the Square, beginning at 4 p.m. Another interesting feature will be a gallery of old pictures to be shown in Arnold’s Showroom. Ladies of the Maytown Fire Company Auxiliary will serve a turkey dinner family style beginning at 11 a.m. tour of old Maytown houses Homes to be open are: The Daniel B. Carter home, the Jack Frank home, and those of Mr. & Mrs. Henry L. Haines, Mr. & Mrs. Adam Greer, Mr. & Mrs. Theodore Darling, Mrs. May R. Hicks. In the Reich Church area, the homes of Mr. & Mrs. James Leonard and Mr. & Mrs. Robert Hayden will be open. These churches will be included on the tour: Donegal Presbyterian and . Reich’s Evangelical Congre- gation; and in Maytown the Reformed (UCC), Church of God, Brethren in Christ, and St. John’s Evangelical Luth- eran. The committee will meet to complete plans on August 26 at 7:30 at the home of Hazel Crankshaw. Interes- ted persons are urged to attend. The Haines house in Maytown square Did you hear Nadyne Hiestand, who has been customer repre- sentative at Farmers First Bank in Marietta for the past two years, is leaving banking to return to school at Southeastern Bible Col- lege in Birmingham, Alaba- ma, where she is studying to become a youth specialist. Also returning to South- eastern are Dwight and Debbie Byers, of Byers Pastries of Marietta, where Dwight will resume his study of church music. LuAnn Singer is also a student of the same college.
