Beahm Jr. High School will present its ninth annual show Thursday, Fri- day, and Saturday, June 5,6, and 7, in evening performances at 8 p.m. in the Beahm auditorium. Show directress is Mrs. Joyce Zangari and the student announcer is Miss Karen Risser. To prepare for the pro- gram the 51 club members have been practicing after school since March. They also made the costumes and props for each number. Ten girls were selected as chairmen for the entire club. The chairmen and directress created all the show routines as well as the costume ideas. The 1975 chairmen are: Cindy Bailey, Nancy Boulton, Karen Ellis, Tina Garner, Amy Landis, Barb Shirk, Sherry Smith, Jacquee Zeller, Laurie Zerphey, and Becky Zimmerman. The chairmen will be performing a special routine in the show. There is a total of 13 acts in the program which also includes the traditional grand entrance and finale. Reidy Patricia Reidy ‘best actress Patricia A. Reidy, daugh- ter of Robert and Roselyn Barr, 24 Elizabeth St., Maytown, received the Best Actress of the Year award for her portrayal of Helen Keller in the ‘‘Miracle Worker.” The honor was given to her at the awards banquet conducted by Alpha Psi Omega, a national honorary fraternity in dra- matics. Pat is a 1974 graduate of Donegal High School and has just comple- ted her Freshman year as a Communication Arts Major at Clarion State College, Clarion, Pa. Troop 34 wins at Camporee Boy Scout Troop #34 of Mount Joy won first place in the Gatewway Competition at the Recent Western District Camporee held at the J. Edward Mack Scout Reservation. Troop 734 is sponsored by the Mt. Joy Rotary Club, Dale Boyer, Scoutmaster; Joe Oliver, Senior Patrol Leader. Second place went to Troop 7267, Centerville, sponsored by the Hempfield Optimist Club, Art Eitzer, Scout Master, Third place troop 78S, Elizabethtown, sponsored by the Church of the Brethren. Over 200 scout and scouters attend the week-end affair. Rupard chairs Scout District The western district of the Lancaster-Lebanon Council, Boy Scouts of America, re-elected Mack Rupard as chairman of the district. Mr. Rupard, who lives in Lancaster, is General Ma- nager of National Cash Register in Mount Joy. YOUTH MUST REGISTER FOR SELECTIVE SERVICE For the past few years all young men have been required to register with Selective Service a few days within their 18th birthdays. The law has now been changed. No one will regi- ster during the remainder of 1975. There will be an annual registration early in 1976, the exact dates to be announced late in 1975. Young men who regi- stered before April 1, 1975 will not be required to register again, but the law still requires that all young men must register sometime after their 18th birthdays.
