Pa Re. > =n Snow storms remembered Farm Women Society No. 8 of Lancaster County met at the home of past presi- dent Miss Anna Mae Eby with the incoming presi- dent, Mrs. Lewis Bixler, con- ducting the business session. Twenty four members each responded to roll call by telling about the worst snow storm she remember- ed. In the stories huge drifts were reported, one member told about a home where a stranded doctor was required to set two broken arms of other interned per- sons. Discarded cardboard was improvised as a cast. One teacher present related that her horse died in his tracks from over exertion while pulling her sleigh to her school. She was forced to walk the several remain- ing miles to her school. A brief song fest, accom- panied by Mrs. Charles Shank, was followed by de- votions led by Mrs. Harold Ney.
