LENTEN SERVICE AT FLORIN CHURCH The cooperative Lenten Service, sponsored by the Glossbrenner United Metho- dist Church and the Florin Church of the Brethren, will be held in the Florin Church, 815 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy, on this Wednesday evening, Feb. 26, at 7:00 p.m. The guest minister is the Rev. Dr. Harold Z. Bom- berger, Exec. Secretary of the Atlantic Northeast Dis- trict of the Church of the Brethren. The sermon sub- ject will be “The Uncritical Christ,” a part of the general theme of the Lenten series, “Scenes From the Life of the Master.” Mr. Bomberger, a native of Annville, is a graduate of Elizabethtown College and received graduate de- grees from Bethany Theo- logical Seminary and Gettys- burg Lutheran Seminary. As one of the foremost leaders of his denomination, Dr. Bomberger served as the moderator of the 1971 An- nual Conference of the Church of the Brethren and has filled many other re- sponsible positions in his denomination. In this week’s Lenten service, the Men’s Chorus of the Florin Church, under the direction of Rev. James M. Eshleman, will provide the special music. The gen- eral public is invited to this and all services of the Len- ten series. NIGERIAN SPEAKS TO MOUNT JOY BRETHREN The native principal of the Kulp Bible School in Northeast State Nigeria, Mr. Mamadu K. Mshelbia, will speak at the evening service of the Florin Church of the Brethren, 815 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy, on Sunday even- ing, March 2, at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Mshelbia is on leave of absence while attending Elizabethtown College and will return shortly to his home and his post. The Florin Church has a special interest in the Kulp Bible School since one of the four missionaries which the church supports is assigned to that school, Mrs. Carolee Ogburn.
