Mr. Anthony Kamerman of London was the guest soloist at the Reformed Church last Sunday. Mrs. Kamerman and he are guests of Pastor Paul Marsteller this week. This is their first visit to our country. Mrs. Florence Fink Dunlap, a former resident of this area passed away Sept. 8. She graduated in the class of 1899 at the Maytown High School. Miss Marie Harter is now with her sister Mrs. C.R. Hostetter at Palmerton. Let’s remember her with cards. Her address is 258 Columbia Ave., Palmerton, Pa. 18071. Pastor Ronald Pierson has accepted a call at Trinity Lutheran Church, New Holland. The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Oct. 14 at the home of Mrs. Ruth McConnell at 8 P.M. ATI St. John’s Social Ministry will entertain the guests at Conestoga View with Bingo on Sat. Oct. 12 from 1:30 to 2:30. The El Shaddai Class of the Church of God will meet at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Lindemuth on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Ruth Henderson was a patient at St. Hospital for several days last week. Claude Henderson was hospitalized after he returned to his home in Ocala, Florida. He returned to his home last week. Eater, 89, of 221 Essex St., Marietta, died unexpectedly at his home Monday, Sept. 16, at 6:10 p.m. He had been under a physician’s care for some time. Eater, a lifelong resident of Marietta, has been road supervisor for East Donegal Twp. for 20 years but retired a number of years ago. Later, he was employed at Wyeth Laboratories in Marietta for nine years. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Marietta and the Marietta Beneficial Association. He was the son of the late George and Ellen Eater and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Services were held from the Smedley funeral home, Marietta, Thursday af- ternoon, Sept. 19, and burial was made the Marrietta cemetery. BERNICE V. BECKER Mrs. Bernice V. Becker, 58, wife of Charles H. Becker, .5432 Manheim Pike, Lancaster, died at her home Monday afternoon, Sept. 16, after an illness of several months. She had lived most of her life in the Mount Joy area. A native of Mount Joy, she was graduated from Mount Joy high school and Lan- caster General Hosiptal School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse. For the past four years, she lived in East Petersburg and for three years prior to that, she lived in Tioga County. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, Mount Joy, and the Trinity Bible Class of the Sunday School. She also belonged to the Women’s Missionary Society and the Ladies Aid Society of the Church. A member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Friendship Fire Company of Mount Joy, she was also associated with Lancaster General Hospital Nursing School Alumnae Association, and the Stoney Fork Grange, 1033, Tioga County. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son C. Richard Becker, New York City; a daughter, Barbara A. wife of Larry S. Landis, Salunga; her mother, Mrs. Mabel M. Kaylor, Mount Joy, and a step sister, Dorothy I. Kaylor, Mount Joy and four grandchildren. Services were held Thursday morning, Sept. 19, from the Heilig funeral home and burial was made in the Millersville Mennonite cemetery. Voter Registration Voter registrations will be taken on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the Mount Joy Borough building.
