Moyer will address the 11:30 a.m. session, which will precede a 12:30 p.m. luncheon and the annual business session of the Donegal Society at 2 p.m. He was named pastor emeritus of Donegal Presbyterian last Novem- ber. ROSE GROWERS WIN Mount Joy Men Place High at Annual Show Two Mount Joy rose growers — Simeon Horton, West Donegal street, and Lester Hostetter, north Barbara street — were among the top winners in the annual Men’s Garden Club of Lancaster Rose Show, held Saturday, June 8, at the Manheim Township branch of the Commonwealth National bank. Both won significant honors. Hostetter’s top win was a silver pitcher for displaying the best red rose of the show and Horton ¢laimed the third biggest point total of any exhibitor in the show. His rose, a dark red entry named ‘‘Grand Slam,” was taken from a five-year-old hybrid tea rose stalk and emerged from four different red rose classes to take the top honor. Hostetter, who grows about 100 stalks at his home, entered 45 roses and won 25 ribbons — seven firsts; eight seconds and 10 thirds. Horton exhibited 41 roses and won 33 ribbons — 12 of them first places in various divisions.
