Groff 653-1357 MOUNT JOY SEWER DISCUSSION Four Bodies In Private Talks Seeks Solutions A serious effort to resolve sewer problems of the ‘‘greater Mount Joy area’’ will be made Wednesday evening, Aug. 29, at a meeting of four municipal bodies. At private session, represen- tatives of the Mount Joy Borough Authority, Donegal School Board, East Donegal Township - Sewer Authority and the borough, were slated to discuss specifically the problems in Donegal Heights and at Donegal high school. The high school. building, for several months, has had a serious sewage problem and officials have been deeply concerned about a solution. Whether there can be a con- nection to the Mount Joy Authority’s system or whether a private disposal arrangement must be made is a high priority for decision. Donegal Heights long has been seeking connection to the borough system to replace on-site disposal facilities of homes in that area. Over the years, the borough has been successfully resistive to applications for connections to the system by properties outside the borough limits. At the August meeting of the borough council, however, there was talk which would indicate some weakening of that stance. Councilman Albert Kleiner put forth the suggestion that “the borough make no arrangements with private individuals for- sewer connections outside the borough and that any connections and arrangements be made with municipalities or authorities.” EE a SS Because Donegal high school is located within East Donegal township, school directors recently have been looking to officials of that muncipality in hopes of finding a solution to the problems at D.H.S.
