Mrs. Joseph - Carroll ® Washington (From page 3) laudible purpose is at stake, for our system of law is not based on the idea that the means justify the end. We believe, rather, that our problems can be solved through reason, and that pattern of government must not be openly jeopardized. Government, in the face of all emotional reactions, has a real obligation to separate the responsible and irresponsible elements of the civil rights cause. Such an obligation demands a pool- ing of reason, justice, law and order. No gains for the future will result from fur- ther encouragement of the advocates of rule by muscle. PAGE FIVE conducted the business meet= ing and formulated plans for the Summer Garden Party, to be held on the lawn of the homes of Mrs. John Simons and Mrs. Richard Detz on June 22.
