First Game May 21 Fire Company—Maust ews In This Locality IRONVILLE On Tuesday evening, May 28th, Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Bean of Green- ville, Mercer County, Pa., will deliv- er addresses and lead the discussions on the different phases of farming be- fore a joint meeting of the Lancaster County Farm Bureau Association and the Farm Women Societies of Lan- caster County, in the Mountville Town Hall at 7:30 p. m. (EST). The meeting will be in charge of president of the Farm Bureau Asso- ciation, Mr. Harrison S. Nolt. The Mowery Boys of Manor Township will furnish instrumental music at the meeting and the Women’s Chor- us of Farm Women District No. 4 will render several vocal selections. On Wednesday evening, May 29th, the Texas Crystal Water Boys under the direction of Your Cousin Lee, who broadcast daily over station W ORK, York, will appear in the Iron- ville school house at 7:45 p. m. (EST). The service is being sponsored by the Loyal Son’s Class of the Ironville U. B. S. S, John A. Fox, Sr. teacher of the class. An offering will be lift- ed, and a treat will be in store for all who attenc. The buildings at Twin Oak’s Pool have been painted, and Mr, H. M. Albright, the owner, has started to fill the pool. The pool and picnic grounds will open for business by the middle of the week. The Ironville U. B. S. S. will hold their annual Children’s Day Service in the church at 9:30 a. m. Sunday morning, June 2nd. The service will be a combined Morning Worship, Sunday School, Children’s Day and Baby Day Service. The children will have part in the service as well as the pastor, who will deliver a short address in honor of the occasion. Mrs. Paul Metzgar who underwent an appendix operation at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Lancaster, was dis- charged from the institution on Fri- day, May 24h. The Silver Springs U. B. S. S. is planning to hold a joint picnic with Centerville U. B. S. S. at Long’s Park at Lancaster, Saturday, July 13th. The Ironville Male Chorus, under the direction of Edgar M. Florin—Greyhounds Accidents (From page 1) Hoffman, of near town, crashed into the rear of a machine driven by Harry Williams, Lititz, R. D. 2, on the Harrisburg pike, west of the Flo- rin underpass, at 10 p. m., Saturday, State Highway Patrolman Earl B. Keller reported. Those injured were: Phillys Hoff- man, four, daughter of the one driv- er suffered shock; Miss Anna Hoffer suffered laceration of the head, and her father, Mr. A. B. Hoffer, suffered cracked ribs. Dr. A. E. Snyder, of this boro, administered emergency treatment and then ordered their re- moval to the Lancaster General hos- pital where they were treated. The Phillys Hoffman is now a patient of the hospital while the others were discharged. Patrolman Keller said he was standing on the crest of a hill near Florin and he motioned Williams to stop because only one headlight on his car was burning. Williams, ac- cording to the officer, stopped his car in a lane of traffic and Hoffman, who was traveling about 500 feet in the rear of Williams’ car failed to see him stopped and not being able to turn out in time to pass, ran into the side of the car. The patrolman, however, escaped being hit, as he was inspecting the headlight in the front of Williams’ car. in the Junior Dept. with an attend- ance of 96 per cent. On Saturday evening, May 25th, the Ironville C. E. Choir held an “Automobile Treasurer Hunt.” After the hunt the group held a doggie roast at the Twin Oak’s Pool.
