Accidents
(From page 1)
Hoffman, of near town, crashed into
the rear of a machine driven by
Harry Williams, Lititz, R. D. 2, on
the Harrisburg pike, west of the Flo-
rin underpass, at 10 p. m., Saturday,
State Highway Patrolman Earl B.
Keller reported.
Those injured were: Phillys Hoff-
man, four, daughter of the one driv-
er suffered shock; Miss Anna Hoffer
suffered laceration of the head, and
her father, Mr. A. B. Hoffer, suffered
cracked ribs. Dr. A. E. Snyder, of
this boro, administered emergency
treatment and then ordered their re-
moval to the Lancaster General hos-
pital where they were treated. The
Phillys Hoffman is now a patient of
the hospital while the others were
discharged.
Patrolman Keller said he was
standing on the crest of a hill near
Florin and he motioned Williams to
stop because only one headlight on
his car was burning. Williams, ac-
cording to the officer, stopped his car
in a lane of traffic and Hoffman, who
was traveling about 500 feet in the
rear of Williams’ car failed to see
him stopped and not being able to
turn out in time to pass, ran into
the side of the car. The patrolman,
however, escaped being hit, as he
was inspecting the headlight in the
front of Williams’ car.
