Bible Study Cross Roads Nativity scene The Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church youth group invites all to attend the ‘‘Live Nativity Scene’’ at the church. The scene will be in the parking lot December 22, 23 and 24, from 7:30 to 9 pm. special programs on Sunday morning, December 21. The 9:00 am Sunday School Hour will feature a puppet show for all ages, entitled ‘‘Mary Had a Little Lamb,”’ in the Fellowship Hall. The puppet show will be presented by the Sunshine Puppet Family. The 28-voice Senior Choir of the church will present the Christmas portion of The Weaver, will feature soloists from the church: Cindy Studebaker, Timothy Eshel- man, Donald Witman, Gloria Longenecker, Connie Kline, Robert Kettering, Joan Newcomer and Glen Weaver. Accompanying the choir will be organist and harpsi- chordist, Dr. Carl Shull. All are invited to attend this special day of worship, inspiration and music. Donegal Presbyterian Christmas observance Christmas observance at Donegal Presbyterian Church begins at 3:30 pm Saturday, December 20, with the annual children’s party given by the Men’s Association. Sunday, December 21, at 9 am, the minister, the Rev. Dr. Victor Baer, will give the fourth in a series of sermons on ‘Pictures in Advent,” titled, ‘“The Child.”” During the service, children will decorate the Christmas tree in the sanctuary with ornaments made in Sunday School. The senior choir will present ‘‘Christmas Dance of the Shepherds’’ by Zoltan Kodaly.. At 10:15 am, a Christmas program will be presented by: the children and adults of the Sunday School. During Advent, family groups have been lighting the candles in the Advent wreath. Christmas Eve candle- light service will begin at 4:30 pm Wednesday, De- cember 24, with harp music by Miss Ona Shreiner of Akron, choir director of Brickerville Lutheran Church. The senior choir will sing a Christmas cantata, ‘‘A Child My Choice,” by David H. Williams. The service will conclude with the lighting of candles and singing of ‘“Silent Night’ by the congregation. This is tradi- tionally a service for the community. Lynn Millard is choir director and Stanley S. Dotterer is organist. Soloist at the 9 am service Sunday, December 28, will be Miss Verna Lefever. She is a teacher in the Millersville public schools, member of Lancaster Opera Workshop, director of the Ephrata Cloister Chorus, member of Center City Choir of Philadelphia and Lancaster Musical Arts Society. Sermon topic will be ‘‘The Gift of His Name.’ Donegal Church is on Donegal Springs Road three miles west of Mount Joy. 2
