Chapin Jr. took place Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Calvary Bible Church, Mount Joy, with Pastor Ronald Gibson officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Erney Jr., 1043 Walnut Street, Columbia. She is a graduate of Columbia High School and the Empire Beauty School and is employed by Great Expecta- tions. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David R. Chapin Sr., 20S Ziegler Street, Mount Joy. He graduated from Donegal High School and is em- ployed by AMP, Inc., Mount Joy. Kraus, 54 North Chestnut Street, Marietta, celebrated their 55th wedding anni- versary on August 12 with a surprise luncheon at the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant. Assisting in making the luncheon a surprise was the office of Dr. Wheatley. A member of the family called the office and explained the plans to nurse Joanne Risser who helped with the sur- prise. She enjoys making afghans, doing crossword puzzles, and freezing and canning the vegetables from their garden. Both she and her husband are avid Phillie fans. MAYERS, Mr. and Mrs. Gregory (Betsy Wilson), of 1132 Lincoln Drive, Great Falls, Mont., a son at the Montana Medical Center last week. Mayers is the son of Mrs. Clara Mayers, Maytown, and the late Vernon Mayers. McCLENAGHAN, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Anne Smed- ley), Mount Joy RDI, a son at St. Jospeph Hospital last week. Obituaries GARY T. COLEMAN Gary Thomas Coleman, 20, of Mount Joy RD2, died of injuries sustained in a one-car accident early Sun- day morning in Mount Joy. Coleman was a passenger in a car driven by Debra E. Mumma, 21, Mount Joy RD1. The car was westbound on West Main Street, Mount Joy, when it went off the side of the rode in front of 977 West Main Street. The car, traveling the shoulder of the road for almost 130 feet, hit a telephone pole and guard posts before Miss Mumma regained control of the vehicle. Coleman was admitted to St. Joseph Hospital in critical condition with severe head injuries and died early Sunday afternoon. Miss Mumma was unin- jured. Coleman was born in Mrs. Gary Lynn Byrd Se tember 10, 1980 Kimberly A. Wilkinson bride of Gary L. Byrd The marriage of Miss Kimberly Ann Wilkinson and Gary Lynn Byrd took place Saturday, September 6, at 2 pm in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Mount Joy, with the Reverend David E. Klepper officiat- ing. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merle D. Wilkinson, Mount Joy. She graduated from Donegal High School and is em- ployed by Amp Inc., Mount Joy. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Guy D. Byrd. He also graduated from Donegal High School and serves in the U.S. Air Force at Rabins A.F.B., Georgia. Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attired in a gown of Victorian styling of chiffon- ette and embroidered and silk venice laces. The high- necked fitted bodice had a yoke of embroidered lace accented with additional embroidered lace ruffling bordering the yoke. Bishop sleeves had deeply ruffled cuffs. The natural waistline with a very full gathered effect was bordered with Lancaster, the son of Dr. Hugh Joseph and Joan Harmer Coleman. He lived in the Mount Joy area all of his life. He attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Elizabeth- town, and was in his junior year ot Elizabethtown Col- lege. He belonged to the college swimming team and participated in intramural soccer. Junior bridesmaid was Paige Wilkinson of Mount Joy, sister of the bride. Serving as best man was Greg Bryant, Elizabeth- town, friend of the groom.
