In front, left to September 10, 1980 Doktor Predicto Doktor Predicto, that secretive mathematical wizzard of Mount Joy (?) has once again allowed the Susquehanna Times sports editor a peek at his football predictions. Even after Donegal’s strong performances against Columbia and Elizabeth- town, Predicto picks Man- heim Central over Donegal by a 20 to 7 score. Dr. Predicto also takes a look at the entire Lancaster- Lebanon league. Here is his analysis: “The 1980 football season is in full swing, and the strong teams appear.to be a repeat of 1979. Wilson and McCaskey should again do battle in Section One, Manheim Central and War- wick are the cream of the crop in Section Two, and ELCO and Garden Spot will try to settle last year’s tie in Section Three. ‘Don’t count our own Donegal Indians out of the hunt this year. There is renewed spirit in Mount Joy this season as the Indians have raced out to an impressive start. This week should go a long way in determining the fate of this year’s team. The Barons of Manheim Central are a well- rounded team with a strong defense and an adequate offense. “I predict a well-played game with the more ex- perienced Barons holding on for a hard-fought victory.” For Dr. Predicto’s ad- ditional forecasts, turn to page 4. second, Columbia #1; and Springs Fire Company; and A Florin fireman leads his team to a victory in the right, are Frank Splain Sr. and Frank Spiain Jr. Behind third, Columbia Vigilant.
