July 30, 1980 Obituaries PAULINE M. GARBER Pauline M. Garber, 80, of Bainbridge, died last week at the St. Jospeph Hospital. She was born in Bain- bridge, the daughter of Elmer and Carrie Sechrist Garber. She lived in Bain- bridge all of her life. She was a member of Bainbridge United Metho- dist Church, where . she served as choir director for five years. She was a graduate of Bainbridge High School and received her master’s’ degree in psychology from the Univer- | sity of Pennsylvania. She retired in 1962 from the Steelton school system where she had taught for a number of years. In addition to many years of teaching, she was a superintendent of special education in Cum- berland and Dauphin coun- ties. Surviving is a nephew, Richard A. Garber, Em- maus, and two first cousins. Mrs. Kathryn Zink, Mount Joy, honored on eightieth birthday Mrs. Kathryn Zink, New Haven Street, Mount Joy, celebrated her 80th birthday with friends from Wiscon- sin, Oklahoma and High- spire, and with relatives from Florida, Mount -Joy, Allentown and Oklahoma. Following a picnic held at granddaughter Sandy Kirk- patrick’s home on Terrace Avenue, a surprise ‘‘This Is Your Life’’ theme, arranged by daughters Thelma and Gladys and families, was held. » The program began with a peom composed and read by Jim Hatcher, Thelma’s husband. A sound film, made by daughters Milly and Jan (who could not be present) was shown by Jan’s son, John Newcomer, and his wife, of Tampa, Florida. A beautiful cake was pre- sented by a friend, Ella Mae Schiefer, and a scrapbook containing candid shots and mementos from babyhood to present, with gifts and cards, was also presented to Kathryn by her great- grandchildren from Mount Joy, Allentown and Florida. Mrs. Waltimeyer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Conner, Mount Joy, and formerly resided at 502 Donegal Springs Road. Kim Beach is bride of Gary Albert The marriage of Miss Kimberly Jo Beach to Gary R. Albert took place Satur- day, July 26, at the Church of the Apostles, Lancaster, with the Rev. Nevin Shellen- berger officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Jane Beach, Pinker- ton Road, Mount Joy. She is a graduate of Donegal High School and Millersville State College. She is employed by Barrels, Whiskey and Rhyme, Park City. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Albert of Myerstown. He graduated from Eastern Lebanon County High School and is employed by Barrels, Whiskey and Rhyme, Park City. Miss Kathy Jo Beach, sister of the bride, Lan- caster, was maid of honor. Larry Hibshman, Richland, served as best man. Ushers were Steve Pavenski and Keith Uhrich, both of Myerstown. ELMER R. GUHL Elmer R. Guhl, 77, Bainbridge R1, died last week at the St. Joseph's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Bainbridge, he was the son of the late Monroe and Emma Rether- ford Guhl, and the husband of Margaret V. Maham Guhl. A lifetime resident of Bainbridge, he was a tobacco farmer for 40 years. Before his retirement he opperated Guhl’s Restaur- ant, Bainbridge R1. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, Daniel R. Guhl, at home; three daughters, Susan Liskey, at home; Mrs. Lois Zink, Wilmington, Del.; and Mrs. Peggy Tomlinson, Newark, Del.; 11 grandchildren; and a number of great-grand- children.
