May 28, 1980 Guard of the Month Yvonne Waltz, a sixth grade student at Seiler Elementary School, Mount Joy, has been named that school’s guard of the month. Yvonne is a guard on a school bus. She is the daughter of Leroy and Myrtle Waltz, 305 Marietta Avenue. Yvonne has three sisters and enjoys track and swimming. Randy Gottshall, 325 E. Market Street, Marietta, had some strong feelings about the hostage situation in Iran. After giving some thought to the situation he designed a flag which his wife Teena sewed. Shown above with the flag, which reads ‘‘Free the Hostages’ is Donald Lucas. Randy Gottshall served in the Viet Nam conflict from 1967 to 1971 as a medic. ‘He feels strongly about the Iranian hostage issue,’’ said his wife.
