Calvin Rex, Pastor 9:00 AM Sunday School 10:15 AM Morning Worship Assumption Lenten Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Mount Joy, is participating in the 7th Annual Diocesan Lenten Appeal which began Sun- day, March 16. The Diocese of Harrisburg establishd the Lenten Appeal in 1974 to cope with the then increas- ing demands for financial assistance to meet the spiritual, educational and humanitarian needs of its people. Devotions have been established on Wednesday and Friday evenings for the duration of Lent. Each Wednesday evening, Father Victor will celebrate Mass with Homily and on Friday with Stations of the Cross. The daily Mass schedule remains the same. On Monday evening, Holy Week services will be held at the St. Mary's PVM Catholic Church this week-end. Good Friday services include a 4 pm regular Communion celebration of the Lord’s Passion and a 7 Holy Week services are planned at Zion Lutheran Church, Colebrook Road and Route #441, Marietta. ‘“Peter, the Impetuous. Christian’ will be the topic of Wednesday’s 7:30 pm sermon. The Sacrement of Holy Communion will be held Thursday at 7:30 pm. Friday at 7:30 there will be a Tenebrae Service with March 24, at 7:00 pm, Bishop Joseph T. Daley of the Diocese of Harrisburg conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on the child- ren of Assumption B.V.M. who have expressed the desire to receive the com- pletion of their infant’ Baptism. Priests from the Diocese con-celebrated with Bishop Daley and Father pm Stations of the Cross service. The Holy Saturday Ser- vices, Blessing of Fire and Water, and the Resurrection Mass will be held at 7 pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 8 and 10:30 am Easter Sunday. Zion Lutheran, Marietta, observes Holy Week special hymn singing and scripture readings to reflect on the act of Christ's crucifixion. There will be a 7 am Service of Holy Communion Sunday, followed by an Easter breakfast sponsored by the youth. The 10:45 am service will be a joyful celebration. The Reverand Philip Lynch is pastor of the congregation. Appeal Victor. A social followed the celebration. A retreat for the men of the Parish is planned for Sunday, April 13, at St. Joseph Academy, Colum- bia. The theme of the retreat is ‘‘Spirituality’’, and Rev. William Frantz, Chaplain of St. Annes Home, Columbia, will be the retreat director. St. Luke’s Eqiscopal offers Easter services St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Mount Joy, will offer two services Easter Day: 8:30a.m. Holy Com- munion; and 10:30a.m. Family Choral Eucharist and Sermon. Nursery care will be available during the late service. There will be the tradi- tional Easter Egg hunt for all Church School members immediately following the 10:30 service Easter Day.
