The teacher, Margaret Kelly, is not shown. Our thanks to Helen Billett. November 7, 1979 Cynthia Charles, Mount Joy, in West Virginia Choir Cynthia Charles, daugh- ter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur B. Charles of 822 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy, was selected to sing in the West Virginia University choir, a 40 voice mixed ensemble which performs often at home, and tours regularly throughout the East Coast. Recently the women of the choir sang in perfor- mances of Debussey’s Noc- turnes at Heinz Hall with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Michael Tilson Thomas conducting. The choir which is under the direction of John Goldsmith, will be on tour in West Virginia November 15 to 20. Ms. Charles, a sophomore at West Virginia University, will also be portraying the character role of Widow Corney in the upcoming musical, ‘Oliver,’ to be performed December S to 8. West Hempfield Lions Club has block shoot The West Hempfield Lions Club will sponsor a Block Shoot on Sunday, November 11, from 12 until S. at the Thunderbird Motorcycle Club located on Kinderhook Road, off the Marietta Pike. All proceeds go to the Lancaster Associa- tion for the Blind. RESOLVE to meet November 14 The Lancaster chapter of RESOLVE, national support group for infertile couples, will hold a meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7:30PM. at St. Joseph Hospital. There will be a group discussion on the various aspects of infertility and all those interested for personal or professional reasons are invited to attend. —Pamela Prenger Diabetes Association to meet November 13 The Lancaster Chapter of the American Diabetes As- sociation will hold its bi-monthly meeting on Nov- ember 13, at 7:30p.m. in the FonDersmith Auditorium at the Lancaster General Hos- pital. The speaker for the evening will be Dr. Priscilla White of the Joslin Diabetes Foundation in Boston. Dr. White is a nationally recognized expert in the fields of diabetes treatment and research.
